Login and Opening Displays
The first display is a Welcome Message and Prompt for Login and
Password. This is displayed when a caller connects via modem or
when a local logon is made by the hitting [F1] key.
Welcome Message...
Displays the KBBS Name in a Red Carpet, along with the license
information if registered.
Login Prompt...
Callers are asked to login with their user id (handle/nickname)
or to type "NEW" if they are a new caller. NEW callers get to
register online but are assigned the level of "NEW." Other
callers get three (3) chances to LOGIN with a valid user id.
You can customize the Login Prompt by creating a TEXT file called
\KISSBBS\PRELOG. Be sure to use a strictly TEXT (ASCII) only
editor or the one supplied in the System Area, and include all
the needed information for a caller to understand what to type to
login.
Password Prompt...
If a valid user id is entered, caller is prompted for password.
Only three (3) chances are given to enter the correct password.
Caller Status...
The next display is the caller's status. Complete information
about the caller is displayed, including caller number and if any
e-mail is waiting.
System Bullet...
If the system bullet was changed since the last logon, it will be
automatically shown otherwise the caller will be asked if they
want to read it. This is a text file that the sysop can make
using the KBBS Online Editor or any strictly text editor. The
filename must be "BULLET" and must be located in the C:\KISSBBS
directory.
Thought for Today...
If the THOUGHT Forum Area is active, then the next THOUGHT
message will be displayed (see MAN# 306 for more information).
